The Kapoor Residence – Indiranagar, Bangalore

The Kapoor Residence — Indiranagar, Bangalore

A 3,800 sq. ft. home rethought from the bones up, where Calacatta marble, warm bronze accents, and bespoke furniture converge into a residence that feels both quietly opulent and deeply liveable.

The Kapoor Residence presented us with a rare opportunity: a generous floor plan, a client with a refined aesthetic sensibility, and complete creative trust. The brief was deceptively simple: make it feel like home, but make it feel like no one else’s home. Every material, every proportion, and every spatial decision was made in service of that single intention.

Before

The space, as we inherited it, was a shell of its potential: standard builder finishes, arbitrary room divisions, and no coherent design language connecting one room to the next. Storage was an afterthought. Natural light was wasted. The home had four walls and a ceiling, but no identity.

Challenges

The greatest challenge in luxury residential design is restraint, knowing exactly when to add and when to hold back. The Kapoor Residence demanded both in equal measure, often in the same room.

After

What emerged was a home that feels inevitable, as though it could only ever have looked this way. The living and dining spaces now flow into each other with intention, anchored by a hand-veined Calacatta marble feature wall that sets the material tone for the entire residence. Warm bronze hardware, custom joinery, and layered lighting complete a palette that is rich without being heavy.

Results

When an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.
